At Vytal, we believe that your health data is incredibly personal. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and strictly protect your information when you use our intelligent wellness companion on iOS and Android.
The Vytal Scan Guarantee
We do not store or retain any images captured using our AI Food Scanner. Once our AI extracts the nutritional data from your meal photo, the image is permanently purged from our systems. The ONLY images stored by our servers are user profile pictures explicitly uploaded by you.
1. Information We Collect
Personal Details: Vytal collects basic biometric details you provide to calculate your wellness score. This includes your age, height, default weight entries, and optionally a profile picture.
Health Logs: Manual inputs such as blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, heart rate, body temperature, steps, sleep, and caloric goals are encrypted and stored to provide timeline trajectories and daily wellness insights.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to compute the dynamic Wellness Score and generate actionable health insights, including downloadable PDF reports for Wellness+ subscribers. We do NOT use your data for advertising, nor do we sell your health history to third-party data brokers or life insurance agencies.
3. AI Food Scanner & Images
When you point the camera at a meal, the raw visual is temporarily sent to our AI for nutritional analysis. After the nutritional data has been extracted, the image is discarded immediately. We never upload or store food photos on our servers.
This process is automatic and instantaneous. At no point is your food photo linked to your profile, shared with third parties, or retained in any storage system.
4. Third-Party Integrations
To provide comprehensive wellness tracking, Vytal may integrate with platform-specific health kits (e.g., Apple Health on iOS, Health Connect on Android) when explicitly authorized by you. We strictly use read/write access limited to your wellness score calculation and vital log synchronization.
5. Camera Permission
Vytal requests camera access solely for the AI Food Scanner feature. The camera is used only when you actively open the scanner to photograph a meal. Images are processed in real-time for nutritional analysis and are never stored on our servers, never linked to your account, and never shared with any third party.
You can revoke camera permission at any time through your device's system settings. Revoking camera access only disables the AI Food Scanner — all other app features, including Manual Entry and Health History, continue to work normally.
6. Data Subject Rights & Contact
You have full control over your data. You can permanently erase your profile and all health records at any time using the "Clear History" or "Delete Account" options in the app under Settings → Data & Privacy.
